Inspirational Quotes"You don't achieve success by 'taking it easy' and 'working on it later'. You achieve it through persistence and hard work." - Robert Kiyosaki Have you ever been told you're crazy for working so hard?
When I'm told that, by people who love and are for me, I remember this quote by Robert Kiyosaki. Because, over and over I've been told I work too hard, I take too many risks, I'm too committed and border on obsessed with the things I'm into. But, by reading over this quote, by an amazing business mogul, I'm reminded of why I act different...because that's what my success takes. But, I wasn't always like this. I was one of those guys who thought the perfect job was the one where I got paid the most per hour to do the least amount of work. When I was in my 20's I had a number of different jobs working for a pretty wide variety of different kinds of companies. I think that's pretty normal for a lot of us right? At that time I prided myself on finding the "easiest" (really the laziest) way of getting something done. I called it "efficient" and maybe that was sometimes true, but, often I was simply finding ways to cut corners. I was also notorious for procrastination! I had lots of things I was "going to do" and not a lot of giddy up to go and do them. I went through my first couple of years of University much the same way. But, then I got into high end arts school and everything changed. Cramming for tests, writing essays the night before and sucking up to teachers for needless extensions wasn't going to happen when you had a show to rehearse and then perform. It's not like you're going to ask the audience for an extension so you can perform next week because you aren't ready right? The grinding wheel of Arts School taught me that great results come from great effort and dedication. That you can't just show up to the rehearsal the night before and expect to have all your lines down, know exactly where to go in every scene and be able to create a compelling character and relationships on the stage. That greatness takes time, that creativity takes time. Now, although I don't directly pursue my art, I've been using the lessons from those years to fuel my career in business ever since and Robert Kiyosaki's quote reminds me of those lessons. Be BOLD. Be CREATIVE. Take ACTION. And remember...hard work along with a little dash of obsession can take you a long way to fulfilling your dreams! So let them tell you you're crazy for working so hard, for being obsessive and for continuing on even though every one else would've given up. That's who you are! That's what makes you...you! And...that's what's going to take you to the top of your Mountain. See you up there. CEO of TYME Michael Bridgman 11/12/2022 11:27:37 pm
